The window frame size is recommended to be 1/2" less than rough opening

I was most pleasantly surprised at the quality of the window. I was a little concerned when the units came with a vinyl tag on them when I ordered wood. But all turned out well.

As a owner of an 18th century House and Barn it is difficult at times to find a good quality product that comes close to matching the original construction without spending thousands of dollar$. American windows does more that just make windows, they deliver quality products made form 100% real wood built to my specifications in less than 30 days. This is an extraordinary product. A wonderful product . Using for attic casement in my older house. Made to measure saves trouble in fitting. Disassembly is a marvel. Thoughtful design. Fedex broke a pane in transit, so i discovered that replacement was a very quick and easy. The no putty design is a great help.

The wood sash windows were exactly what we needed. Fit and finish were excellent and the free shipping was a bonus. Highly recommend.

A good inexpensive window. I like the fact that the window can be trimmed without having to remove the fasteners and running the risk of the frame coming apart. I will be shopping here next time I need windows.

I ordered 4 wood barn sash windows to use in 2 sets of carriage doors I am building. They are working perfectly. Quality is good and the sizing is spot on. Shipping was fairly quick and the windows arrived undamaged.I was happy to find this site and have already recommended it to others.
