I was a little skeptical ordering windows from a website. The staff was responsive, even caught a mistake I made on the order form that could have cost me hundreds of dollars. Packaging was superb, not even a scratch on the windows when they arrived. The quality is easily comparable to any economy class vinyl window from Home Depot or Lowes but at a fraction of the cost (for custom sizes). I would definitely recommend American Windows.

I mismeasured the windows for my basement. I had to sand the top and bottom, and it was a very tight fit, but the windows open/close beautifully. They are awesome!

I just installed my windows today and couldn't be happier. I've installed alot of windows in the past. They are great and will do the job. I do have a couple little complaints though. The exterior reveal around the windows is too small. Once you've installed the stop, there's not much room before you are blocking the screen. And, if you drill the holes for drainage....guaranteed to be covered up with your stop.

This is a really nice custom basement window for the price -- about 1/3 the price of a top quality brand. A minor complaint is that the plastic locking handles are a bit cheap looking. Even so, I plan to buy several more to finish replacing the basement windows in my 1932 house. About two weeks wait for my custom order. Support was helpful. Install was not difficult.
